Sometimes it can be difficult to design in your style – now imagine trying to get in the head of someone else. Especially someone as legendary of a designer as Muriel Cooper, the first design director at MIT Press. In this zine, I aimed to pay homage to one of the greats by imitating, encapsulating, and designing in a way inspired by both Muriel’s work and design philosophy. Along with the entire design, I also wrote all of the copy for the zine, telling the larger story of Muriel’s design career. Each spread is designed to reflect a period in her career which is explained in more detail in the copy.
